Refund & Cancellation Policy

The prices on this page apply from November 1, 2026. The refund and cancellation rules apply from 12:00 a.m. Eastern Time on Monday, November 16, 2026; until then, the rules in the version dated October 23, 2026 apply.
Zac Northup Books and Publications (“we”) wants you to be happy with what you buy. This policy explains when you can get a refund and how to cancel. Prices are in US dollars. West Virginia sales tax (6%) is added to West Virginia orders, and a full refund includes the tax you paid. One-time purchases made before November 16, 2026, keep the terms that were in effect when they were placed. A subscription year that started before November 16, 2026, keeps the terms that were in effect when it started. Renewals charged on or after November 16, 2026, follow this policy.

1. Pharos Terminal subscription
- Billing and renewal. Pharos Terminal is priced per student for two semesters (see the table above). Two semesters is one year of access, billed once a year. It renews automatically at the then-current price unless you cancel before your renewal date. Your renewal date is shown on your Account page, and we email you a reminder 14 days before each renewal.
- Cancel any time by emailing us, or through Manage subscription on your Account page. Canceling stops the next renewal. Your online lessons stay available until the end of the year you’ve paid for. Downloads of the lesson packets, lessons and courses included with your subscription are paused once it’s canceled. Courses and packets you bought separately aren’t affected. Download pausing applies to subscription years that start on or after November 16, 2026.
- Refunds. In your first year, payments are not refundable during the first 30 days after your first purchase. After those 30 days, you can ask for a pro-rated refund for each full month left in your term. A partly used month isn’t refunded. Pro-rated refunds are based on the amount you actually paid for that year, after any discount. For a renewal, you can get a full refund within 7 days of the renewal charge. After those 7 days, a renewal payment isn’t refundable, except as our Terms of Service describe.
- What a refund does. A refunded subscription ends access to lessons, packets, included courses and new work right away. Your records are not deleted. Your account becomes read-only, so you can still view and download your records and portfolios. See our Student Data & Privacy Notice for how long they are kept.
- Fewer students. To reduce the number of students on your subscription, email us before your renewal date, and the change will take effect at your next renewal. A student without a paid seat becomes read-only. Their records are not deleted.
- Adding a student. A student added during a subscription year follows the same refund rules, counted from the day that student was added. Removing a student takes effect at your next renewal, and the rest of the year isn’t refunded.
2. Digital products
This section covers lesson packets, Reality Writes!, Through the Fading Darkness, Beyond the Fading Darkness, Winter’s Ghosts and Pitch to Profit. Each is a separate, one-time purchase when bought on its own.
- Before download. If you haven’t downloaded any of a product’s PDFs, you can get a full refund within 7 days of purchase.
- After download. Once any of a product’s PDFs has been downloaded, it can’t be returned, so it isn’t refundable. Downloads are recorded on your account.
- Broken files. The one exception: if a file is broken or won’t open, tell us and we’ll replace it or refund you.
- What a refund does. A refund removes your access to that product’s PDFs. Anything also included with your Pharos Terminal subscription stays open online while your subscription is active.
- Shared licenses. A refund isn’t available if the license has been shared or transferred.
3. Courses and your subscription
Every course is included with an active Pharos Terminal subscription, plus special projects as they’re released. Courses and special projects included with a subscription close when the subscription ends. Special projects aren’t sold on their own, so they have no separate refund. A course bought on its own includes its PDFs, which stay yours; its online lessons open while you have an active Pharos Terminal subscription. Refunding a course doesn’t affect your Pharos Terminal subscription. If your subscription ends or is refunded, you keep the PDFs of the courses you bought.
4. How to request a refund
Email officialzacnorthup@zacnorthup.com with your order number and the name on the order. We’ll reply within 2 business days, and approved refunds are issued to your original payment method within 5 business days. Your bank may take another 5 to 10 business days to show it.
If something is wrong, please contact us before filing a dispute with your card company. We can usually fix it faster.
5. Other purchases
- Books and audiobooks bought on Amazon, Audible or other retailers follow that retailer’s return policy.
6. Your rights
Nothing in this policy limits any right you have under the law where you live.
