Zac Northup
Zac Northup’s stories describe the life of the unseen person; the overlooked man or woman who gets out of bed every day and does the hard things that life requires. The stories he writes are ultimately intended to give average Americans a face so others might recognize them if they take the time to stop and consider what it is that makes us all human.
“When I look for things to write about, I tend to focus on people who, on the surface at least, think and act like most people in their community. Many times, they are just average Americans struggling with difficult circumstances forced on them by other people. The only difference is that my characters see opportunities where others don’t. They rely on common sense and toughness to turn disadvantages into advantages. They persevere. They are exceptional without assuming they’re smarter or somehow superior to their neighbors. In other words, they’re normal people whose circumstances require them to do extraordinary things.”
Zac has been writing and publishing for nearly thirty years. His work has appeared in a broad spectrum of national and regional newspapers, magazines, and digital news outlets. He has extensive experience in producing books & periodicals, digital media, podcasts, and documentary films.
He currently lives in West Virginia.
